Key West in The Florida Keys – Home of the Sunset

Key West, the most extravagant and exotic island in The Florida Keys. This tiny town at the end of the of the overseas highway is known for its excellent saltwater fishing, Fantasy Fest, Margaritaville, spectacular Coral Reefs for diving and snorkeling, and party capital of The Florida Keys.

Celebrities, Politicians and Models are frequent visitors to the island. The southernmost town is a seaport destination for many passenger cruise ships and it has its own Key West international Airport.

Mallory Square Key West Sunset

On days that Cruise ships dock on Mallory Square, you can see thousands of visitors crawling the most popular street on the island, Duval Street, where you can eat shop and drink , as the saying goes “So many bars, so little time”. The town offer more than 150 restaurants and bars with a different theme for everybody, the popular Sloppy Joe’s on Duval and Greene Street, were you can eat, drink and rock the night out with the hottest bands in town.

Ernest Hemingway lived in island from 1928 until he left for Cuba in 1939. His house, located in 907 Whitehead St in Old Town Key West, has been converted to a Museum and is a popular attraction among visitors from around the World.

There is a celebration every evening in Key West , depending on the time of year, it is the daily sunset. The most spectacular sight that you could possibly see. The celebration starts at 6pm and takes place at Mallory Square with arts and crafts exhibitors, street performers, and food carts.

Street performers like the famous Cat Man in Mallory Square will start their shows one hour before the sunset for the crowd while waiting for the daily sunset ritual entertaining thousands of tourist at the pier.
